A few weeks ago I went with my family to Savannah, Georgia, for vacation. It was my son’s idea and I remembered that when I watched the movie “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” a few years back I thought it looked like an interesting place to visit.
So we went and the grandkids insisted on going on a ghost tour while we were there. I don’t believe in ghosts but had heard that it was a good way to hear some good storytelling.
I was glad that I had gone to Hearing aid locations in Florida before I flew in to meet them there for the trip because the young college student that was leading the tour talked in a low creepy voice part of the time for dramatic effect. It just made me think about how before I would have never been able to hear her speak like that.
The tour ended up being like I thought. It was a little cheesy, but I did get to hear a lot of good local history that I didn’t know before that.

Wow! The TV station known as the Discovery Channel had a crazed man to enter their office building the other day and was strapped with body explosives and was armed with a handgun too. The man apparently was upset with the popular cable channel and some of the programs they were promoting. The programs about the planet Earth and some of the big family shows like Kate Plus 8 and 19 Kids and Counting didn’t sit well for one very disturbed man. I won’t mention his name here as an investigation is still on going, but there are numerous websites which you can find that will tell you who this man was.
He did do a protest back in 2008; where he paid homeless men to walk around with signs and picket the office building located just outside the Washington, D.C business district. Police did manage to end the standoff and only the gunman was hurt in the incident. He was killed as police rushed the Discovery Channel building, but there were no employees hurt from the Discovery Channel.
Do you like the TV show the Discovery Channel shows? Do you understand why someone would be so upset, they would resort to violence and essentially become a terrorist against the television station? I often watch a lot of their programming and I find it more educational than disturbing. I look at the folks from the Discovery Channel as a group of people trying to help mankind and not destroy it. I am shocked anyone would choose to take action in this manner, because they felt like the Discovery Channel was to blame. I think the TV station helps us to understand the World around us better and in no way, shape, or form do I think the Discovery Channel is a negative on the human race or Mother Earth. Maybe showing families with lots of kids is not something we should be promoting these days. The World is getting too crowded and we do need to think of ways to decrease our growth in this country and around the World.

I have been recently seeing a physician for lower back pain. My original doctor has sent me to another specialist who specializes in epidural shots. At this new doctor’s office is where I have been given two epidural shot injections in the lower back. I have had this done 3 weeks a part and I haven’t seen a big difference. My shots contain steroids and this is suppose to help my lower back pain. My doctor will come into the room with his surgical scrubs on, talk to me for a little bit, then will wheel me off to another room for the epidural procedure.
I do like my new doctor and his staff. They are all polite and dressed like professionals. At my last visit, I was wondering where they bought their doctor’s clothes, scrubs, and the nursing uniform scrubs the women were wearing. You just don’t normally see clothes like this for sale at a big department store or the places I often go shopping for clothes. I do know of a place online called Blue Sky Scrubs and they sell a variety of these physician and nursing uniforms. My new doctor has all of his employees in uniforms and scrubs, just like the ones being sold online. I may just have to ask them the next time I am in there, if they order their medical uniforms from BlueSkyScrubs.com. It wouldn’t surprise me if they do, because their scrubs are so identical to the ones I see for sale online.
I assume the general public could order these scrubs online, if they were looking for a comfortable pair of pajamas or a costume for Halloween. A lot of adults and kids like to dress up like doctors and nurses on the last day of October. It won’t be long until Halloween gets here again, so if you plan to be a doctor, surgeon, or a nurse on this festive holiday, you might want to go ahead and get your orders in now. If you order right now, your medical costumes should arrive before Halloween gets here.
As for my lower back pain, I will be going back to the doctor around the 24th of September. My doctor isn’t planning to do a epidural shot on this day. He just wants me to come in, so we can chat and see how the latest epidural shot went. If you’re reading my blog right now Doc, I can already tell you the pain is slowly starting to come back. I did get some relief for the first couple of days, but I think the path of the steroids has changed and it is now moving away from the area; which is causing me the discomfort. So you may want to start looking through your mens scrubs right now and preparing to give me a 3rd epidural injection for my never-ending back pain. I really can’t wait for all of this to be over with, so I can enjoy life with the rest of the World.

These army worms that come up from Florida, are making their way into the metro area of Atlanta. People who suddenly see their lawns are being ate by something, chances are it will the army worm. There are other signs to look out for too. If you see an increase in the number of birds that visit your lawns or an increase of frogs; then chances are it is due to the armyworm from Florida.
Your best defense aganinst these pests are sevin dust or sevin in liquid form. You can pick this up at any garden section at a department store or hardware store. Your not likely to see these worms during the day. They come up from the ground during the night to eat. If you have one of these army worms, then chances are you have thousands and thousands and will have to eventually wipe them out for the season.

Where do you like to go on the World Wide Web and just read? Is there a special website you have or a blogger who you enjoy reading? I know the things I find the most fascinated online is current events. I like real things and not fictional stories, so I enjoy reading a lot of the 24 hour websites; which are dedicated to the news, current events, and sports.
Our world is changing so fast out there. I like to stay up-to-date as much as possible and follow a lot of these events that are taking place. Now that the Internet has brought us all closer together, we hear about the awful stories in other countries. Like about the Pakistan floods and other countries around the world, which are outside of the borders in the country I live in, which is America. I really lose track of time on some of these websites and I can spend hours just reading about all the different events going on around the world.
Now the videos are fun to watch too. I get interested in them and don’t always have to read about the news. Many times you can find all of the popular stories from the morning shows that cover the news and your 24 hour TV stations which follow the news closely, on these online videos. Much like the videos at YouTube or MySpace, but these videos are about today’s top stories. Which news agency do you trust the most for news? I don’t have a favorite, but I know some people are very picky with the news channels they watch on TV. I think all of the NBC channels do a good job and I like CNN and FOX for news too. I really like the news casts which will stay on live events taking place, like a high speed car chase. I have found NBC news channel MSNBC normally does the best job with these live and developing stories we sometimes get to see happen before our very own eyes. Or at least the people like me, who don’t work a real job in the day and can wait for these breaking news stories to happen.

Who is the best NASCAR driver? This is something NASCAR fans can debate for days. The problem with this is since most NASCAR fans are so loyal to their favorite drivers, they will never look at things objectively. If you as them why they think Travis Kvapil is the best driver on the circuit, they will respond with, “Because.” That being the case, it’s about time someone looked at things logically. You can bring up Kurt and Kyle Busch, but the two real monsters are Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. Some people will say that Jeff Gordon has had a more impressive career, but if you look closer, that is not the case. I have watched these two drivers on my satellite dish in Texas for many years, and I finally decided to look at some numbers.
Jimmie Johnson has been 1st in overall points in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. These four championships equal Jeff Gordon’s four championships. So, we can call that a wash. However, Jeff Gordon has 82 wins in 603 starts and Jimmie Johnson has 52 wins in 313 starts. If Jimmie Johnson had as many starts as Jeff Gordon, he would have much more wins, by about 20! Let’s look at Top 5 and Top 10 finishes. Jeff Gordon has 273 Top 5 finishes and 374 Top 10 finishes. Jimmie Johnson has 125 Top 5 finishes and 192 Top 10 finishes, but in almost half the amount of races. These numbers would also be close to a wash if they had the same amount of starts. This leaves wins as the determining stat, and Jimmie Johnson is the clear winner.

A few years ago I was thankful that my pre-teen daughter wanted to watch the Disney Channel instead of mature, age-inappropriate TV shows. Now I guess it still was better, it’s just that she owns 10 times her weight in Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers merchandise.
But perhaps the biggest impact is that I have to take her to Jonas Brothers concerts, which isn’t an easy task to say the least. Tickets normally sell out as soon as they go on sale, so I make sure that I use my wildblue satellite connection to order them online because satellite internet compared to dial-up is so much faster.
I also always order any tour merchandise with my satellite internet portland online so that we won’t have to wait in long lines at the concert to buy at $50 T-shirt that will shrink as soon as we put it in the washing machine.
As far as the music goes, I guess it could be much, much worse. Besides, the venues they perform at have seats so at least I don’t have to stand at the back of the mosh pit and make sure that my daughter doesn’t break her arm or something like other moms I know with young teenagers.

If you could own any animal in the world; which one would you pick? I know it would be tough to just choose one animal that you would like to have. Surely there is just one animal you don’t ever see your self owning and now you have the chance to own it. Pick only one animal for the one you would most like to have or own one day.
My choice would be the white tiger. I love tigers in general, but really love the more rare tigers that have the white coat with black markings. One with great, big blue eyes would be a nice touch. I like the Alaskan Malamutes or Siberian Huskies that have the pretty blue eyes and I would want those eyes on my white tiger.
I would not want to get one that was fully grown. I would prefer a white tiger cub, so I could raise it and get it use to me well. I believe raising any wild animal from a baby to an adult will treat their owners good for the most part. The wild animals that normally attack their trainers or owners are the ones that got mistreated at some point in their lives.
Do you think you would like to own a white tiger too? If I won the lottery or came into some big unforeseen wealth, I would like to have a nice sports car with a white tiger cub I would let ride with me. I believe these are beautiful animals and would look good in a nice, brand new sports car. At home my white tiger would be free to run around in my huge mansion. I would probably turn 75% of my basement into a play area for my white tiger. So he or she would have plenty of space to roam and play around in. Yes, I believe if I could have any animal in the world, I would choose to own a white tiger.
What if you were given the choice to own any animal in the world? Do you think you would want to pick a tiger or even one of the more rare white tigers? Or do you prefer a much more tame animal and one that would be easier to keep up with? Please let me know which animal would rank highest on your list of animals you would like to own. It doesn’t have to be an exotic or hard-to-find animal. Maybe you like the blue eyes of a Siberian Husky or Timber wolf and would want to own a dog-like animal with blue eyes? Just reply back with your choice for the animal you would like to own the most.

My grandfather is from the old school. When he turns on the television, he will only watch something that’s in black and white. What I find so amazing about this is that at first I’m always bummed, but as the movie continues, I always find myself enjoying it more and more. I especially remember one movie about a kid who was lost in a snowstorm and had to figure out a way to survive. Most people would consider the movie a little slow, but I found it to be intriguing. It made you think because you were constantly trying to figure out what he was thinking and why he was doing the things he was doing.
My grandfather is a huge movie fan, but as stated above, only if they’re old. He got me into these old black and white movies, and I got him into using a computer. Okay, he doesn’t really use a computer like most people. I just taught him to stay in touch with me by using hughes internet satellite. At first he was frustrated by it, but now that we can communicate almost daily about movies and other things going on, he absolutely loves it. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has set up his computer in front of the television so he can watch old movies and write to other people on satellite internet oklahoma at the same time.

It was 1996 when the National League All Stars in baseball last won. Since the winner of the mid-summer classic now gets home field advantage in the World Series, it’s become a very important all star game to win. The American League has been the winner every year, since the new stakes were put into place. Things have changed now, with a catcher from Atlanta as the hero. Brian McCann of the Atlanta Braves hit a double down the line in Anaheim on Tuesday to clear the bases and give the National League Team a 2 run lead. It would be all the runs the National League would need, as the American League Team only got 1 run.
The big controversy for the American League is why Alex Rodriguez’s own manager Joe Girardi would not give him an at-bat in the All Star Game on Tuesday. Leaving Ortiz in to run at first base, came back to haunt the AL manager of the N.Y. Yankees; thanks to a brilliant play by Marlon Byrd in right field. He was able to get an out, by throwing the slow-footed David Ortiz out at 2nd base. It was a pop-fly that Ortiz thought Byrd would catch.
Brian McCann was awarded the MVP for the game. You could make a case for Marlon Byrd too. His great play in the 9th inning, plus a long at-bat with Valverde; which most players were having a hard time with. He also was down in the count 0-2 and was able to draw a walk; which loaded the bases and gave the Braves catcher a chance to hit the 3 run double.
It’s great to see the National League finally win a all star game in the 21st century. Maybe these guys can carry this momentum in to next year’s all star game and get on a winning streak, like the American League has done for the last 7 seasons.

Thanks to mommy blogger Sonia Milford for the post.
Since we upgraded from cable to direct tv satellite TV, my husband and I have started watching tons of food and cooking shows. We enjoy shows where the hosts travel across the nation, trying out family-owned restaurants that have a large reputation in the local community for great food. We have been able to watch episodes about restaurants in our area. Other shows we enjoy include shows in which hosts travel the globe sampling exotic dishes. These shows spark a lot of conversation about whether or not we could see ourselves trying out the dishes due to the main ingredients. It is amazing to learn that animals we would never consider eating are actually delicacies in other countries, it really gives us an idea of the cultural differences involving food. We also enjoy many food-based reality shows in which contestants compete for jobs at high-end restaurants by attempting to cook the most delicious meals in various competitions. Some of our favorite food stars include Rachel Ray, Guy Fieri, Paula Dean and Emeril Lagasse. Our favorite shows include The Cake Boss, The Barefoot Contessa, Unwrapped, Iron Chef America and Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares.
