Doughnuts Not Just for Cops

It doesn’t matter if you spell it doughnuts or donuts they are still yummy for my tummy. The best places to get these great treats were recently diplayed on an article from MSN. They list some of the best places to go for great doughnuts. I would love to go to all these places to taste them for myself.

Here is the way the list shakes down for America’s Best Doughnuts:

Frittelli’s Doughnuts and Coffee in Beverly Hills, California

Randy’s Donuts in Inglewood, California

Sweetwater’s Donut Mill in Kalamazoo, Michigan

Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans, Lousisiana

Doughnut Plant in New York, New York

VooDoo Doughnut in Portland, Oregon

Round Rock Donuts in Round Rock, Texas

Kane’s Donuts in Saugus, Massachusetts

Top Pot Coffee and Doughnuts in Seattle, Washington

Coffee An’ Donut Shop in Westport, Connecticut

Those are the ones that were on the list. I guess Dunkin Doughnuts and Krispy Kreme didn’t make one of the places for America’s Favorite doughnuts. I do know that Dunkin Doughnuts is going to be using a non trans gram fat mixture for it’s doughnuts in the future. I worry that their doughnuts won’t be tasting as good in the future. Those trans gram fats have been linked to heart disease but it’s where a lot of good flavor comes from. No potato chips taste good now because they took those trans gram fats out of the chips.

I am not familiar with any of these places and none of them are close to my home in Georgia. I have heard of Voodoo Doughnuts because they was featured on a Taste of America that I saw on the Travel Channel. I would love to take a vacation and try all of these doughnuts, because I have loved doughnuts all my life. They are one of my favorite sweet treats to eat.

If you know any of the places above and have tried their doughnuts, then please let me know what you think about them. Maybe I can make a trip to one of these places one day and if I only get to go to one, then I want to pick the very best one!

The Ladies Being Football Fans

The women are showing up to more and more games in the NFL these days. Now does these women go looking for the men? Do they actually like the game and watch every play and know what’s going on? Is this just the coat-tail effect and they go to the games with their husbands and boyfriends? Whatever the reason might be, there is little doubt they are showing up more in the stands at NFL arenas.

Now obviously they can’t be going to watch the games for the same reason as some men. You know the ones that go for the hot cheerleaders or dance teams the NFL teams have these days. Then again, it is modern times and I do think we have a lot of bi-curious females out there. Ok, so we have more women at the games. Just what team should fear this the most? Well it looks like there isn’t much to do in Steel Town and the women from Pittsburgh are the ones showing up at the games and claiming to be die-hard Steeler fans. Now this is understandable that the organization has had one of the most loyal fan bases of any sport and that effect is sure to carry on over to the gals. Another boring town on the radar is Green Bay and they rank 2nd on the list of most women claiming to be fans of the Packers. If you live in Green Bay or Pittsburgh and you’re a female, then let me know if you claim to be a fan of your team. I would like to know just how hardcore of a fan you’re?

Now other interesting stats came from this women in the NFL stat from the Yahoo article I was reading. They had other top categories for fans and NFL teams. Check some of these out and let me know if you see any surprises here:

FANS BETWEEN 18 – 24: Green Bay Packers

FANS WHO ARE COLLEGE GRADUATES: Washington Redskins

FANS WHO ARE BLACK: Washington Redskins

FANS WHO ARE MEXICAN: Miami Dolphins

FANS WHO EARN OVER 75,000 A YEAR: Washington Redskins

FANS WHO EARN OVER 100,000 A YEAR: Washington Redskins

FANS WHO HAVE AT LEAST ONE CHILD IN THE HOUSEHOLD: Green Bay Packers

So those are some pretty interesting stats and to see the Washington Redskins leading in so many categories is interesing. I would have guess the big salary guys per year would be the Seattle Seahawks. The Mexicans I would have figured for the San Diego Chargers. The most black people I would figure the Atlanta Falcons or New Orleans Saints.

I would like to see if these stats held up in other sports too. I just wonder if fan base has anything to do with these stats. All stats were given in a percentage stat and teams with more fans would have more chances to score a talley in the stat column.

I guess going back to the topic and women being football fans. I guess that is alright by me, I guess we need someone to go grab us a cold one or some snacks so we don’t miss any of the action! However, before I give any women the credit of being a fan, I would like to test her on some football knowledge or at least her hometeam. I like to know that they are really football fans and just didn’t answer yes for the survey purposes. I’m sure you Steeler women know that Big Ben owns a motorcycle and which player was known as the Bus, but do you know the name of the little white kid that Mean Joe Greene threw a T-shirt to in the Coke commercial?
