Wow! Have you guys checked the prices on some of these latest and greatest diet products? For that much money, I sure hope they work. I am someone who is not severely overweight. Just throw me in the crowd that needs to take off 15 or 20 pounds. I am around 190 pounds now and would prefer to be 170′ish. I believe I feel better overall; when I am at a lesser weight. I am thankful, I am not forced to buy these expensive diet pills I see selling on TV and on the Net.

If you’re someone who needs help with taking off weight, I would avoid these higher priced diet supplements. Just because they cost more, does not mean they work better. You can find some products with a good rating and a much cheaper price tag. For instance, a diet supplement called african mango is one that has a high rating. Also, you can buy a diet product like this, without having to take out a loan to buy it. I am still amazed at some of these high online prices for people who need help. It just doesn’t sound right, to charge someone a ton of money, for a product they really need for health related issues. Not everyone on a diet is doing it to “look good“. Some folks have high blood pressure or asking their internal body organs to work overtime. The heart is not the only problem with overweight people. So many other things are affected and cheap help should be made available. Although hard to find, there are some quality products out there, which a dieter can buy at a good price. Hold off on the over-priced diet pills and supplements, until the maker of these products come back to Earth with their prices.

This guest post from Lenny Mcknight

It’s been great trying to divvy up the household chores now that Chris and I are married. We’d been dating for a while and we knew we didn’t want to live together before we got married so this is how we planned it out. Now that we’re hitched I’m moved in and it’s quite an adjustment living together for the first time! I love being part of a couple but having to share a bathroomis a whole different beast – one that I’m not too crazy about. Anyway, I’ve been doing all the bills and calling Reliant Energy and the pest control guys and all that and Chris has actually helped a lot with the manual chores like taking out the trash and doing laundry and stuff. I never would have pegged him as so domestic but I guess he did live by himself for many years which probably helped a lot. I love being married and I’d say our relationship is stronger than ever now that we live together all the time.

If you’re looking online for something old to buy; then try to look for Tibetan Singing Bowls on the Internet. Some of these historic bowls are over 200 years old. Do beware of sellers online, who try to date their bowls. Dating these bowls is a tricky business and for the most part, it can’t be done with any accuracy. Some believe these bowls have special powers and used by the Monks in this area of the World. The seven different metals all have unique tones, for which these bowls are made from. In some cases, you can order Crystal Singing Bowls from Tibet. For those who like to collect Gongs, or older antiques from foreign countries, might want to investigate these ancient bowls more. I found very little information about them online, but what little I did find, it was very interesting. I would like to learn more about these singing bowls and perhaps buy one, off the computer.

For those who already have health insurance, either through work or as an individual plan, they can access medical services knowing that they are covered to at least some extent, depending on their choice of plan.

However for many groups of people, health insurance is either unavailable to them or unaffordable, especially with rising costs. These include the disabled, those with pre-existing health conditions, low-income families, and some ethnic and racial minorities amongst other groups. The Affordable Care Act is attempting to eliminate some of these disparities by making quality health care fairer and more equitable for all people in American society.
When people are not insured they tend to avoid using medical services, which increases the level of disease and pushes up health care costs. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, chronic diseases which cause about 70% of deaths each year are largely preventable.

Reforms to health care include:
- Funding for more health centers across all states over a 5 year period.
- Measures to improve accessibility to health insurance for those previously shut out from health coverage.
- More preventive health screenings availability at no extra cost.
- Steps to prevent unreasonable price increases of health plans.

These reforms aim at reducing the cost and improving the quality of medical care and health coverage generally, and of course improving the nation’s health into the bargain. This could well prove to be good news to those who are currently enrolled in the California savings plus program or those seeking to enter into one.

Guest post written by Gordon Neely

Every time that a new Harry Potter movie comes out, our family makes a big to-do and ventures out to see the movie on the first night together. It’s become a huge family thing and I’m just sad that we’ll only be able to do it one more time. So as a way to kind of bid farewell to Harry Potter, we planned our family vacation this summer around going to the new Harry Potter theme park.

Because it was my idea, I took on the role of planning the whole trip. As i was doing some of that trip planning a few weeks ago, I ran across www.ClearWirelessInternet.net and after I browsed through it a little bit I decided to switch over our home internet service to it.

I’m really excited to just see all of the architecture there at the park. I think that by itself will be really neat and we’ll feel like we’re really in that wizarding world then. But then of course I’m sure that the rides are going to be amazing too because those are the main attractions at a theme pack.

View of Ringgold, Georgia After the Tornado

From the picture here, things don’t look that bad from a distance. If that was only the case, for this small town in Northwest Georgia. Ringgold has always been famous for wedding couples. A place you could visit and get married in the same day. They have a way to do your blood tests and get all of your official paper work in order, so that a man and woman could wed on a one day visit to Ringgold, Georgia.

There is something else that can be done in a day too. And that would be for the whole town to be destroyed in just one day. Actually, for those who were around this part of Georgia, it lasted much less than a day. It was more like 15 or 16 seconds of havoc and then the spring time storm that had moved in so slowly and evil, was gone in a flast. In less than 20 seconds, a huge tornado ripped through Ringgold last week and destroyed everything in its path. You would think hundreds of people would be dead, from this huge twister in northern Georgia, but that wasn’t the case. There were 8 people, who officials said the tornado is to blame for their death. I don’t really have an injury list to report, because the injuries all seem minor or didn’t require medical attention at a Georgia Hospital.

Ringgold McDonalds Out of Business by Tornado

Now that the storm is gone in Ringgold, it is time to rebuild. But that may be difficult to do, as the tornado season is still in high gear for Ringgold, Tuscaloosa Alabama, and other parts in the Southeast. People all over the South need to take preparations, so they can avoid being caught off guard. We are in a weather pattern, where more thunderstorms, high winds, hail, and possibly a twister or two may make another touch down in Georgia or surrounding states. The folks in Ringgold are probably using roof sealers to help with the leaky roofs caused by last week’s tornadoes. Others will need to get weather alarms or some type of weather instruments, so they can be prepared for the next series of storms that roll into Georgia.

Tornado Alarm and Severe Weather Alert

An alarm system like this, could be a big help, if another tornado decides to head for Ringgold or any other part of Georgia. I would like to see more of my neighbors and friends in Georgia, ordering these weather alarms online, so they can get them in time for this year’s bad outbreak of storms, all over the country. These alarms are a good idea for this year and all of the years to come. No telling what kind of future storms and tornadoes we will see, since climate change or global warming is now taking over our planet. I think an alert system for personal homes, is a good way to insure your own safety. Don’t rely on the tornado sirens your local community has installed. In case they fail or someone doesn’t activate them manually. These home weather alarms work automatically and you and your family will never be caught off-guard again, if a bad storm ever moves into your neck of the woods. Please be safe during bad storms. If you hear thunder, then you are close enough to get struck by lightning. The sound of thunder is our first warning, we need to take shelter immediately and try to turn on the local weather news or the weather channel for further information. Or if you have a weather tornado alarm system at home, you can monitor the severe weather in your area by yourself. Please take shelter during these bad storms the South will continue to see in 2011. I hope you and your family remains safe and your property and house doesn’t get damaged by these strong winds we have been seeing around the southern USA.

Travis Leslie Simply Amazing!

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s a 6 foot 4 inch junior basketball player playing for the University of Georgia. If you thought Bulldogs had short, stubby legs and the hangtime of a bulldozer; then you just haven’t been watching the right Bulldogs.

High flying acts is nothing new at the college campus in East Georgia in a place called Athens. Lots of people around the World associate Athens with the world famous city in Greece, where we know some of the best Olympians have competed in superhuman feats. Folks living in Georgia and around the ATLin Hotlanta has known about these super jumpers over in Athens, Georgia for a long time now.

His number was 21 and he was manifique Dominique. The man you see in these early 1980′s photos is the Human Highlight Film. He has been recorded with a 48 inch vertical jump and yes that is a full 2 inches more than Micheal “Air” Jordan ever recorded!

In each of our lifetimes we will all get to see greatness in one form or another. For me and in my childhood that greatness was Dominique Wilkins. He was a fantastic basketball player for the University of Georgia; which the Bulldogs are mainly known for their college football team. In fact, Nique was so good, he only had to play 3 years of college basketball and instead of going to college in his senior year, he got drafted by a professional basketball team. How cool is that? Most basketball fans probably think the Atlanta Hawks was the pro NBA team that drafted him out of college. Actually the story was a little bit different. The Utah Jazz had the 3rd overall pick in the 1982 NBA Draft and it was indeed the Utah Jazz who drafted this 6 foot 8 inch forward from the University of Georgia and played in high school, just north of the Athens, Georgia area, in North Carolina (Washington H.S.). In those days, you would normally have a senior basketball player to win the major awards, like the SEC Player of the Year. Since Dominique Wilkins was so good at basketball for the Georgia Bulldogs, he was able to win the prestigious SEC Player of the Year in 1981 and he did this as a junior in college.

The first player that got taken in the 1982 NBA Draft, was a talented forward from the North Carolina Tar Heels named James Worthy. Most basketball fans can remember the Tar Heels beating Georgetown that year, due to a mid-range jumper that Michael Jordan would take for the N.C. Tar Heels. The 2nd player was Terry Cummings and he had a great career in the NBA. Then at number 3, the Jazz from Salt Lake City, Utah would draft a junior forward from the University of Georgia named Dominique Wilkins. All three of these forwards (Worthy, Cummings, and Wilkins) would have stellar NBA careers. Even looking back on it now, 30 years later, you would have a hard time ranking these 3 NBA forwards properly in this draft.

2003 AAU Team – Atlanta Celtics

The youthin Georgia were only beginning to fight over the number 21 jerseys around the Atlanta area in youth basketball, as Dominique Wilkins suddenly became every teen’s favorite NBA star in the Peach State. Soon a trio of Georgia stars would cross paths creating one of the best AAU Teams the Nation has ever seen. The Atlanta Celtics would feature Dwight Howard, as seen wearing the number 12 jersey in the middle of this rare Atlanta Celtics photo. Sitting down in the picture and to the right, is the Atlanta Hawks current superstar and high flyer Josh Smith. While standing on the far right, was a much leaner and meaner basketball stud in Randolph Morris, who would later go to the Kentucky Wildcats and play NCAA basketball. Dwight and Josh never stepped on a college campus and just went straight to the Orlando Magic and the Atlanta Hawks, where both men are still playing for in 2011. Yep, long before you had the Big 3 for the Boston Celtics in Kevin Garnet, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen; you would have the Big 3 for the Atlanta Celtics in Dwight Howard, Randolph Morris, and Josh Smith.

The biggest respect for a legendary dunkerwas what Josh Smith did in 2005 for the greatest dunker of them all, in the 1980′s generation in Dominique Wilkins. No one in the NBA, not even Micheal himself had the powerful leg explosions in mid-air, like the Human Highlight Film was displaying on a nightly basis, in the former Atlanta Arena known as the Omni. Nique was taking off every game in the old Omni Gymnasium and Hawks tickets were hard to get back then. Some where along the lines, a very young and gifted athlete in Georgia saw this man wearing that #21 jersey and wanted to do what he was doing above the rim. While everyone in the World might want to dunk like Nique, no one really can, because they don’t have the powerful legs and the hangtime to get up there like he does. Well this young man did and his name was Josh Smith and he was the first slam dunkerever, to pay tribute to a legend in the fashionhe did. Some NBA guys will copy a legend’s signature dunk, but they never do it as well as the legend, who first did it and this is why it becomes their signature move.

In 2005, a teenager by the name of Josh Smith would begin setting off a chain of reactions; which would be heard all over the World, before the night was through. From a cold gym in the dark Colorado Mountains sat a building in the city of Denver, where thousands of NBA basketball fans packed the house and so did cameramen and photographers from just about ever nation on Earth. They were all a witness to Josh Smith taking off his shirt and having a Dominque Wilkins number 21 Atlanta Hawks Jersey underneath his sweat clothes. After the fans begin to roar loudly for Josh just having the famous jersey on, they would get even louder, once they saw what he did.

Josh grabbed the basketball tightly and proceeded to run toward the rim and as he got near, he leaped high into the air, gave a crowd-pleasing windmill motion in a full-circle andthen jammed the basketball with authority from the right side of the rim! It was already a crowd-pleaser with the Nique Jersey on, it soon became a crowd-stopper, when he powered that ball through the hoop with so much authority. Normally Dominique performed this dunk on the left side of the rim, because it is much easier for a right-handed dunkerto do it this way. Since Josh Smith uses his left-hand to dunk, fans were treated to a reverse action and got to truly see a mirror image of the famous windmill dunk, in which was just one of many signature dunks for the big fella from Paris, France; who is still actively involved andon the Atlanta Hawks payroll, as one of the key administrators of the Atlanta Hawks basketball team. He also makes a secondary income from the television work he does with Bob Rathbun on the local games that get aired in the Atlanta metro areas of Georgia.

Atlanta Native Josh Smith Pays Tribute to a Georgia Legend for His High Flying Dunks

This would not be the last thing Josh would do to impress the Denver slam-dunk fans in 2005. In typical Josh Smith fashion, where “good” is just never “good enough” for him, he always believes he has to go the extra mile. So he spared no expense and made sure the yelling and screaming fans of the Denver Nuggets, could participate in his aerobatic desires to be a dunk champion on this cold 2005 All Star Saturday Night in Denver, Colorado.

To really wake up the fans, Josh knew he would need a Denver Nuggets NBA player (past or present) to assist him with his next dunk; which some dunk experts are calling the Number 1 Dunk of All Time in a live, televised dunk contest; with the NBA taking part as a host and official sponsor.

Josh had no time to work out a routine with any of the Denver Nugget Legends who were in attendance on Saturday Night’s All Star festivities. He was able to grab a current Nuggets player who was enjoying the dunk contest. It was the very tall and very strong Kenyon Martin, who stands about 6 foot 10 inches tall. What could Josh Smith do with such an imposing figure and one who would get the fans to roar even louder? It would seem to just put Kenyon standing near the rim and having Josh dunk over him, would make the most sense, right? This is that part where good is never good enough for Mr. Smith in Atlanta and he likes to take things to the extreme.

Suddenly everything starts to fall into place and Josh Smith takes one local hero, one standard chair, and one officially licensed Spalding basketball with Denver team colors and history was about to be made in the NBA. Kenyon Martin or you may know him better by his NBA nickname K-Mart, was about to help set up one of the best Blue Light Specials Kmart has ever had aisle 6.

Josh puts Kmart in the chair sitting down. The chair is in the lane and is just below the foul line, as you go toward the hoop. As Josh Smith is backing up toward the half-court line, he is waving back and forthto Kenyon, so Martin can have his chair placed in the exact spot for this Josh Smith dunk attempt. Finally Smith gives one last hand gesture to the tha fans local hero K-Mart andthis signal from Smith was the “stop” sign, as now Josh feels everything is in perfect order.

He calls for the tri-colored basketball from the referee. The basketball is passed out to him near the half-court area and it just doesn’t look right. The basketball is in Denver team colors and Josh is wearing his dark red colors from the Hawks uniform. The ball does match-up well with the uniform shorts and sweat-shirt top Kenyon Martin is wearing from the Denver Nuggets uniform. At this point, it is almost like Josh notices this, so to keep a perfect color co-ordination going on here, he passes a soft bounce pass to Kenyon. Just as soon as Kmart catches the pass, we already see Josh focusing-in on what he is about to do. He didn’t give Kenyon Martin much time to hold the ball and now Josh begins to run toward the Nuggets power forward. As Josh gets near the chair, the ball, and Kmart, he suddenly launches himself into the clouds above and history is made in 2005!

And if it is the best slam dunk ever. I guess I better keep a copy of it here, on my blog post of some amazing Georgia kids and their jumping abilities.

How do your rank Josh Smith’s high flying dunk in the 2005 Slam Dunk Contest, sponsored by Sprite and the NBA?

Top dunk of all time? Best contest dunk ever? Top 3 dunk, but not the best one ever? Only Vince Carter can beat him in dunking?

Josh Smith is just one of the many fantastic kids from the state of Georgia, who can jump out of the gym. Let’s not forget about Dwight Howard and his Superman Dunk.

It was Josh Smith and Dwight Howard who took jumping from the free throw line to a whole new level. One does it in Superman fashion and the other is jumping over people and catching a pass while he flies in toward the basketball rim. Josh and Dwight are still friends today; while both are NBA players and both are the best players on their teams in the National Basketball Association. Josh is 3 days older than Dwight Howard. Josh was born on December 5th in 1985 and3 days later in that same 1985 year, the Georgia Sports Department was blessed with the birth of Dwight Howard on December 8th.

Hoops is played above the ground in Georgia and many kids from this state have proved their abilities to jump out of the gym. The Georgia Leapers has a long list of names and continues to grow in the Peach State today! I hope the Atlanta Hawks will be able to get more athletic in the future, with some of our state’s best basketball jumpers.

I think Chris Singleton, who grew up in Cherokee County and in Canton, Georgia would make a good draft pick for the Atlanta Hawks team this summer. The Hawks may need to trade up, so they can bring Singleton back to his Georgia roots. Currently Chris Singleton is playing for the Florida State Seminoles. He was invited this past summer to team up with a lot of other talented college players from around the Nation and practice against the USA Men’s team, who recently won a championship and the U.S. Team was led by Kevin Durant and Durant was the MVP of the Tournament in Turkey this past summer in 2010. I’m sure Singleton’s NBA body frame served him well in these practices with Team USA. And yes, some of the pictures of Chris Singleton do favor the King, LeBron James from the Miami Heat.

I also hope the Atlanta Hawks do whatever it takes to get Travis Leslie from Athens to the ATL. Leslie is a strong jumper at 6′ 4″ and is going to be a factor on the next level. He needs to be an Atlanta Hawk too and it is important for us to keep these young men from our Georgia High School programs in state and move them over into a setting on our NBA team.

***Please help me to create a list of Georgia athletes, who were either born here, played high school basketball in Georgia, played for team at a Georgia college, or has played with the Atlanta Hawks NBA Team & Organization. I want a list of Georgia athletes who were known for their leaping abilities on the basketball court.

*Dominique Wilkins – Atlanta Hawks, Georgia Bulldogs

*Isma’il Mohammad – G.T. Yellow Jackets, W.D. Mohammad H.S.

*Travis Leslie – Georgia Bulldogs, Columbia H.S.

*Josh Smith- Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Celtics, College Park, MacEachern H.S.

*Dwight Howard – Atlanta Christian Academy H.S., Atlanta Celtics

*Chris Singleton – Cherokee H.S. in Canton 3 Years; Dunwoody H.S. (1 Year)

Have you ever been on a ride in a helicopter before? Perhaps you had a medical rescue you were a part of or just rode a helicopter for a tourist ride. I have only went on a helicopter once and I don’t think I will ever get back on one again. I’m just too afraid of heights and a helicopter goes just a little too high for my taste. The big jumbo jets don’t bother me. They go so far up in the sky, you lose track of reality in a way. Not with a helicopter, it keeps things very much real and you can make out tall trees, power poles, and the power lines very easily. I don’t like that feeling, but I know some people really enjoy the helicopters. Those places that offer helicopter rides to tourists, really make a lot of money off of these high flying trips. I know the gas probably isn’t cheap for the helicopters, but neither are the tourist rides. A simple trip for one person, where you just basically go up and around in a small circle, can cost $15 for one person and could be as high as $30 per person. A ride at $20 per person for two people is an easy $40 made and the quick trips last 15 minutes usually. A helicopter pilot could easily make $160 an hour for a steady stream of tourists or sight-see’ers.

The baddest copter on the planet is the one the U.S. military owns. The Apache Helicopter is a mean and lean driving machine. It can travel at high rates of speeds; while still hitting targets on the ground or in the air with pinpoint accuracy. You would not want your tourist helicopter to get in a dogfight with this bad boy. No helicopter in the World could even come close to packing the punches the military-style Apache Helicopter offers. It’s one of the top weapons our military has in the United States. It was a big factor in all of the Middle East fighting that has been taken place over the last 20 years. The Apache Helicopter is well-built for taking out enemy weapons or enemy soldiers. Instead of using this combat bird to kill and destroy, just its presence alone has saved a lot of U.S. lives.

So for me, helicopter rides are scary. If I rode in them often, I could break my fear of heights and would probably enjoy them. I don’t plan to get back in any more tourist helicopters, but would probably jump at the chance to go riding through the air in the Apache.
