Having so many great outdoor activities around doesn’t stop my kids from wanting to be inside all day. They love the satellite tv honolulu we get and they also really like video games but I’m always pushing them to get outside and go swimming or boating or something like that. They’re just a sedentary generation, I know that, and I wish that they weren’t because it’s not good for their minds or their little bodies. Sometimes I wonder what would happen to the world’s children if left to their own devices and I’m sorry to say I think they’d all become obese and really just learn no coping skills for the rest of their lives. They like to be spoonfed and I can’t have any of that – I appreciate that they like air conditioning but the need to get it together otherwise they’re all going to grow up with heart problems and they’ll live less years than anyone in my older generation. That’s pretty pathetic if you ask me!

Guns N’ Roses & Metallica Concert

Yep, it was a truck load of North Georgia boys heading across the state line, for a once in a lifetime event. It featured the greatest band of the 1980′s and really ever, Guns N’ Roses, along with the 2nd best band of that era, Metallica. These two mega-giants in metal would never play on the same stage and especially on the same night, right?

Well it wasn’t common for that time period and even today, we don’t see the “big boys” of courntry, rock, rap, or any other kind of music perform together, cause it cuts them out of money. There is only so much a vendor or concert organizer can charge for a concert. Even when you put two great forces together on stage, for a once in a lifetime thing, the average American is still poor. As you can see, our economy in 1992 wasn’t much better than it is today.

Now to understand the full magnitude of this 1992 Concert in South Carolina, you have to go back through the history of entertainment. Sports are common for putting two of the best teams in the league on the same field, court, or ice rink, for one night or one series. A reality show like American Idol or Simon’s new show the X-Factor is known for grouping the best of the best together and putting them on one single stage for just 1 night. When it came to the decade of the 80′s, there were no 2 metal bands in hard rock music, that were bigger than Metallica and GNR period. Imagine if American Idol wanted to create this much excitement and electricity in the air. They would have to take the winners for a 10 year stretch or a decade of Idol Winners and then have a sing-off for 1 night, to compare to the music in Williams – Brice Stadium on September 7th, 1992 (due to a postponed date from the August 2nd ticket date). Even then, you would still fall short of these musical giants; since we have still failed to see or find a band of any kind, better than those rock n’ roll powers; that Guns n’ Roses could conjure up on any given night. The greats never really come together as 1. As you can see, it would be interesting to see some things come together. Madonna and Brittany Spears we got to see and history was made. Just this year, it almost repeated with Brittany Spears and Lady Gaga locking lips at the MTV Music Awards, but Brittany pulled away at the last second, leaving Lady Gaga hanging.

Not everyone will get a chance to see the best of the best come together. We will have days where a lot of good talent or good looks, come in focus at the same time, but usually not for very long. The fans who attended this post-poned concert date (actual concert on Sept. 7th; due to Axl’s voice going down), with a 6:30 pm evening start time, to see Faith No More lead off for 2 of the greatest bands ever, was a once in a lifetime event. I was glad I was there to witness this rock history and I am still waiting for 2 powers of this magnitude to come together again, so hopefully I can witness history again.

And that was how the night rolled along, after we got to hear Faith No More in South Carolina. There was two other bands that shared time, opening up for these 2 giant rock bands and they were Motorhead and Body Count. I don’t really know who Body Count was then or now, so I am glad they went with a band I did know,  in Faith No More. A little Motorhead would have been fine too. Axl Rose, the lead singer for Guns N’ Roses, actually wanted Nirvana to open up for this concert tour, but Kurt Cobain refused to do it. I guess he thought of it as being disrespectful, but if Cobain would have accepted the offer from Axl Rose, it could have been even more legendary than what it was. Now we will never know, how Kurt Cobain’s future would have went, if he accepts this offer to open up….

I was searching for various gold related websites; when I came across a place called Goldfied Ghost Town. Seeing the words “gold” and “ghost” struck a double interest in me. I do love a lot of the old ghost towns and some of the ghost tours I have been on, in various U.S. cities. I noticed this old ghost town also had a gold mine with it and it was open to the public for tours. You could even do a little gold panning at this old western ghost town, according to the information on the Arizona Lodging Experts website. They also had a wealth of knowledge of other great places to stay at in Arizona, if I do plan to take a trip there with my gold sniffing dog (Buddy), who likes to travel with me. I noticed there are tons of az pet friendly rentals to choose from. Even if I don’t choose to visit this old western ghost town, I know there are other open areas for gold prospectors and dog lovers to have some outdoor fun.

I don’t mind the guided tours at the places designated for visitors and tourists. I do like to venture out on my own and try to dig up some ground, where no one has been before. I figure my best chance for finding big nuggets out west, is to find these hidden destinations, where no tourists ever visit. If you currently live in Arizona, I would love some feedback on different areas of the state; which you feel could be holding a big golden nugget. I would be happy to split my findings, for anyone that did point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance and I guess for now,  I will continue to dream about heading out west to find my golden treasures.

Well if you hear about someone traveling to Canada, you probably guess they live near the border. I am actually in Georgia, in the deep South and a long ways from the Canadian Border. I am actually closer to Mexico; than I am to Canada. Well I’m not actually traveling to Canada. Instead, I will be taking the Internet Highway up to Canada and checking out some of their discount drugs online. Their pharmacy seems to offer a lot of the American drugs, but for a cheaper price. Saving money is important for everyone right now and I think my upset stomach would be fixed cheaper with Canada Drugs than American drugs.

I believe most of my current stomach problems are the result of too much acid. It could be too little acid and I need to increase it. I believe when I shop online at the Canadian Pharmacy, I will buy nexium for my acidic stomach. I never tried the purple pill before, but I finally got a prescription for it. Not sure if the pharmacy in Canada needs a prescription to get Nexium online, but I have one, in case they do ask for it.

I have tried most of the over the counter drugs for stomach problems, but get little to no relief from them. I’m excited to have this prescription for nexium, so I can try a product which has worked well for so many people. Since I want to save money, I don’t have to have the real thing. A generic substitution would be fine for me. I looked it up and Nexium does offer a generic version of their stomach pill. The generic name of Nexium is called Esomeprazole. It’s a good thing I am ordering these online, so I can just spell the generic name, instead of having to pronounce it. I would be in trouble trying to pronounce this long “E” pharmaceutical name to a pharmacist, cashier, or even over the telephone to a local pharmacy in my hometown.

From the picture here, things don’t look that bad from a distance. If that was only the case, for this small town in Northwest Georgia. Ringgold has always been famous for wedding couples. A place you could visit and get married in the same day. They have a way to do your blood tests and get all of your official paper work in order, so that a man and woman could wed on a one day visit to Ringgold, Georgia.

There is something else that can be done in a day too. And that would be for the whole town to be destroyed in just one day. Actually, for those who were around this part of Georgia, it lasted much less than a day. It was more like 15 or 16 seconds of havoc and then the spring time storm that had moved in so slowly and evil, was gone in a flast. In less than 20 seconds, a huge tornado ripped through Ringgold last week and destroyed everything in its path. You would think  hundreds of people would be dead, from this huge twister in northern Georgia, but that wasn’t the case. There were 8 people, who officials said the tornado is to blame for their death. I don’t really have an injury list to report, because the injuries all seem minor or didn’t require medical attention at a Georgia Hospital.

Now that the storm is gone in Ringgold, it is time to rebuild. But that may be difficult to do, as the tornado season is still in high gear for Ringgold, Tuscaloosa Alabama, and other parts in the Southeast. People all over the South need to take preparations, so they can avoid being caught off guard. We are in a weather pattern, where more thunderstorms, high winds, hail, and possibly a twister or two may make another touch down in Georgia or surrounding states. The folks in Ringgold are probably using roof sealers to help with the leaky roofs caused by last week’s tornadoes. Others will need to get weather alarms or some type of weather instruments, so they can be prepared for the next series of storms that roll into Georgia.

An alarm system like this, could be a big help, if another tornado decides to head for Ringgold or any other part of Georgia. I would like to see more of my neighbors and friends in Georgia, ordering these weather alarms online, so they can get them in time for this year’s bad outbreak of storms, all over the country. No telling what kind of future storms and tornadoes we will see, since climate change or global warming is now taking over our planet. The sound of thunder is our first warning, we need to take shelter immediately and try to turn on the local weather news or the weather channel for further information. Or if you have a weather tornado alarm system at home, you can monitor the severe weather in your area by yourself. Please take shelter during these bad storms the South will continue to see in 2011. I hope you and your family remains safe and your property and house doesn’t get damaged by these strong winds we have been seeing around the southern USA.

It is a little hard to believe, that a couple in Illinois, wanted Nadine to perform at the Bement Opry in Illinois. It should be interesting to see how she holds up; once we pull her away from the comforts of the diner. Then again, at the diner she is asked to come in for 5 minutes and has to warm up the crowd, make them laugh a few times, and come up with a clever church sign. And she is doing this pretty much solo and no one is really helping her with the comedy.

Now that Larry’s Diner is going back to the 1 hour episodes, we may get to see a little more air time or camera time for Nadine. One more thing that makes her job tough, is walking into that same diner 3 or 4 times in the same morning and having to reel off a new set of jokes, since each taping will be shown on a different night. Usually 1 taping, means we will get to see that 1 show, about 2 to 4 times on RFD-TV.  Is there anything else on this rural TV channel that you watch? I do watch some of the Hee Haw episodes from 1972, they have been showing lately. After Hee Haw, it’s Larry’s Country Diner with Nadine and the rest of them; which provides my entertainment on the rural network TV channel.

I just wonder during them early April dates; when Nadine is up there and having a big time, if Larry and Renae will even open the diner? Transporting goods, like truck drivers do everyday in America, seems like a good job to have. At least it would be easy and you would get to travel. Someone who has clearance to travel across borders, like a San Diego truck driver might have, would probably receive a much higher pay in salary. A job that would be physically easy, but I know it would come with it’s stresses. The truck driver who gets lost or seeing his or her truck breaking down, would be a stressful situation. Hopefully a San Diego auto repair shop would be close by and could get truckers rolling down the highway again. The big 18 wheelers would have the most worries about finding a new truck part for their monster rides. The smaller transporting operations, who were driving the Ford trucks around Southern California, could probably find auto assistance at most San Diego car and truck repair locations.

The typical auto shop in Southern California would be in high demand. I’m sure a lot of these places in a big city like San Diego, California would keep a mechanic on duty 24 hours a day. They might not be able to help too much, for truck drivers who were seeking a specific part for their truck. Not every auto repair shop can stock a huge inventory of car and truck parts. A lot of overnight deliveries would probably be needed, to keep these truck drivers on time with their deliveries and pick ups. The 24 hour-a-day mechanics would be handy for simple repairs. They could run diagnostics for a car or truck which has a check engine light on or might just need a new battery.

In general, truck repair places are in need through out this great country. It would just seem to be a greater need for a big California city like San Diego, who also shares the border with a foreign country like Mexico. There really isn’t too many other places in America, where goods get delivered and taken away by the big commercial trucks and where the private truck drivers with the Ford pickup trucks play an important role too.

My mom was watching a travel special on our Satellite TV from www.bestchoicetv.com about Germany one night. I usually only half listen and watch these shows but they started talking about the hofbraeuhaus in Munich. As I started to pay attention to the show it described different beer tours of Munich. Lol! This was right up my alley!

I asked my mom to DVR the show for me so I could show my friends and then started researching these tours on the internet. While the Hofbraeuhaus Beer Hall is the most famous in the city, I found out that there are many more beer halls and breweries in Munich.

One night, while playing darts with my buddies, I mentioned that the show I saw on Satellite TV and my idea about getting a group together to go over to Munich. To my surprise 3 out of my 5 friends liked the idea! My mom was able to find and book a Munich Beer Tour for us.

We flew over on Lufthansa which is the National Airline of Germany. The flight was great though we were tired when we got there since we hardly slept on the plane. I think I gained 20 pounds on that trip between the beer and the amazing Bavarian food. My favorite was the Schweinsbraten. It was pork slices smothered in gravy! Jake preferred the Weiner Schnitzel, which was a very thin veal cutlet that was breaded and fried.

We returned from our trip with a new respect for German beer and food. I think we started a tradition! Next year we are planning a Pub Crawl in London.

Every little girl dreams of having a lavish fantasy wedding full of glitter and pomp and circumstance complete with swans, princess gowns and tiaras. Some little girls are very lucky because they get to actually have the wedding of their dreams such as the girls on Platinum Weddings on my satellite tv in Minnesota. This is a fabulous show that shows excessive and over opulent weddings thrown for spoiled girls. I should take that back, because not all of the woman are spoiled but, rather they come from wealthy families so they are used to luxurious ideals. Anyway, these weddings cost millions. It is amazing that something like these parties can even come together due to all the detail involved. Many are black-tie affairs with little room for anything less. They have china imported and flowers flown in from all over the world. Backyards or grounds of an estate are transformed into fairy tale like setting for a wedding party and reception. It is amazing what money can do and all to make a little girl’s dreams come true. There is nothing like in the world I bet. Of course, the drama is what makes the show and there is always something that goes wrong. But, at the end of the day, as long as the bride is happy and successfully married then it all works out.

A few weeks ago I went with my family to Savannah, Georgia, for vacation. It was my son’s idea and I remembered that when I watched the movie “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” a few years back I thought it looked like an interesting place to visit.

So we went and the grandkids insisted on going on a ghost tour while we were there. I don’t believe in ghosts but had heard that it was a good way to hear some good storytelling.

I was glad that I had gone to Hearing aid locations in Florida before I flew in to meet them there for the trip because the young college student that was leading the tour talked in a low creepy voice part of the time for dramatic effect. It just made me think about how before I would have never been able to hear her speak like that.

The tour ended up being like I thought. It was a little cheesy, but I did get to hear a lot of good local history that I didn’t know before that.
