USA Wins!

The Americans did something on Sunday night that no one thought they could do. They beat a much more talented team (by NHL standards) from Canada on their home ice in Vancouver. It was a great game to see and MSNBC did a beautiful job in covering the historic event to millions and millions of hockey fans that tuned in from North America last night. The game between Canada and the United States was “must see TV” for those that got a chance to see this great hockey match up.

There was a 30 minute pregame show on MSNBC to highlight this hockey match between the rivals from Canada and the United States. When you look at the Canadians line up from last night’s game, it was hard to imagine how the U.S. would keep up on the ice. They did more than keep up as they controlled the game from the start. Canada never did have the lead in the Olympic hockey match that was featured on MSNBC in the States last night. They did come from behind 2 different times to tie the score, but the young American hockey players always had a answer for Canada’s attempts on a comeback. It was a game that the USA would win 5 to 3 over Canada.

It was an electric atmosphere in Vancouver as 20,000 fans (mostly Canadian) filled up the arena in Western Canada. Big TV screens and monitors were placed outside of the arena and lots of fans packed the local bars and taverns in the Vancouver area to watch this big hockey game. The Canadian Government decided to stop liquor sells at 10PM on Sunday, so they could have a little more control with the huge crowds in Vancouver. This was expected to be a huge celebration in Canada, after their stars rolled over the USA team. That never did happen and the USA men’s hockey team would leave the millions in Canada stunned. Hockey isn’t a sport the Americans are known for and it’s much more popular in Canada. It’s hard to determine where this historic win will fall in Olympic history with the Americans, but it’s right up there with the 1980 win over the Russian hockey team in Lake Placid, New York. That was the “Miracle on Ice” and it looks like our hockey team has created a 2nd version of the Miracle on Ice.

The hockey tournament in Vancouver is far from over. There’s a good chance the Americans will have to face Russia now and perhaps the Canadian team will have a 2nd chance to redeem their self with the loss to the Americans last night. Expect things to really heat up now as the USA hockey team now has a horse in the race.

It’s nice to see guys from the NHL (National Hockey League) playing at a competitive level. We don’t get that level of competition from the annual NHL All Star Game and it’s so much better to see these guys playing with real determination. It’s a competitive field and the USA team looks prepared to go the distance with the boys from Canada and the talented team from Russia. Who will win gold for men’s hockey in Vancouver?

Now that the promotion has begun we decided to check the newest digital radio offerings. Choosing a new digital radio today is like picking out one of the first High Definition TV’s. The truth has finally came out and now Mark McGwire admits to using steroids. He was taking these performance enhancing drugs while him and Sammy Sosa could not miss on a fast ball and knocking it over the wall at some Major League park. I’m sure most of us expected this and many want to know why now? Perhaps it’s to help his chances with the baseball hall of fame or maybe the man just wanted to come clean. Anytime the name Barry Bonds gets brought up, it quickly becomes a steroid conversation and I guess the same was true for Mark McGwire. Maybe he thinks his admission will help him here and that’s the reason McGwire admitted to taking steroids.

Most people still don’t get baseball and if you think Mark McGwire or Barry Bonds is not good baseball players; then think again! Before you throw these two legends under the bus, let’s keep in mind another athlete that drugs has came to the surface and he too is at the top of the sports world. Ever wondered what made Tiger Woods hit the ball so far? Obviously Tiger Woods and his recent accident that showed different types of narcotics in his system is not too far off from the steroid game. It’s only natural to think Tiger Woods took steroids and he is probably laying down the clubs now, because he probably fears a drug investigation on his great golf play. He obviously knows a way to beat the drug tests and how many people are aware of a strict PGA drug test anyways? I’m sure Tiger’s biggest fears right now is for his steroid-use to make public headlines and one person out there could help this to surface. The former Mrs. Woods has to be pretty mad at Tiger and she probably holds a few of the cards when it comes to linking the great Tiger Woods with steroids or other performance enhancing drugs.

After Tiger Wood’s accident, he was clearly on prescription medications. The accident didn’t knock him unconscious. He was in that state from the use of drugs that has been cleverly keep quiet to this point. Stories have emerged of his name being prescribed narcotics, but for some reason the police in Florida did not think Tiger’s drug use was that important. Florida police went a step further and said no evidence of a fight or assault ever took place on the grounds of Tiger Wood’s home. I guess they bought the golf club through the window story too; where Mrs. Woods was using a golf club to break the window and get her cheating Tiger out. Even though photos clearly show that no damage was done to the driver’s side door and if Tiger wasn’t on drugs, he could have simply open the door himself.

Now let’s compare golf with baseball. Golf is a sport where the ball just sits there and golfers give it their best hack. A good aim or stroke is important and then the ability to muster up enough strength to hit the ball. The person that drives the ball the furthest on each swing has the greatest chances to win. In baseball you have a human trying to deceive the hitter with different pitches. Some are off-speed pitches, some are fastballs, some are curve balls, and the list goes on and on on how pitchers try to fool the hitters. Regardless of how strong you are or how fast you are, it still takes a tremendous amount of ability to actually hit the pitch. Steroids can only go so far in helping a Major League baseball player hit for a higher average or hit for more home runs. Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire have talent and these guys were going to hit home runs with or without steroids. Maybe they got more distance on their homers by the use of steroids. Maybe a dozen fly balls a year, that should have been caught on the warning track, flew out of the park due to steroids or other performance enhancing drugs. The bottom-line is that Mark McGwire had talent and his drug use could only help him so much.

That isn’t the case with Tiger Woods. Golf is a much different sport and steroids for a golfer is a lot better; than it would be for a baseball player. I hope no golf fans really think Tiger is a naturally gifted golfer. Tiger Woods has clearly used steroids or performance enhancing drugs to become the star he is today. Now that we have learned about his narcotics-use, there is no telling how far Tiger’s drug dependencies go. Many think Tiger will return to golf later this year. One guy from ESPN said late March. I don’t see where he is getting his information from. I think Tiger Woods has a drug problem and his recent troubles has only caused his drug-use to go up. Don’t be surprised to see Tiger checking into a rehab clinic pretty soon. Actually you should be surprised, because Tiger would never let that become public knowledge. He has managed to keep his steroids under the radar, but I think Mark McGwire being front page news now will help others put 2 & 2 together and we can yell “FOUR” like we never have before. Tiger Woods has cheated the PGA, his fellow golfers, his wife, his fans, and the high dollar sponsors. Even though some sponsors still support his drug use and driving while on drugs. Not to mention the lies and adultery these sponsors support like Nike and others.  Let’s change these Mark McGwire headlines and replace his name with Tiger Woods for the performance enhancing drugs, so we can kill this topic off for good.

Tiger Woods Making a Mockery of the Florida Police

Perhaps Tiger will go to jail and maybe he want. Rich people don’t go to jail, right? Well today is the 2nd straight day in a row that Tiger Woods has eluded police investigators as they try to learn more about his fight with his wife and the drugs he was taking; when Tiger Woods wrecked in the early morning hours of Friday November 27th. Tiger might want to understand that the police don’t like to be made a mockery of and that is exactly what the very rich and very spoiled Tiger Woods is currently doing.

Tiger Woods is known to have a spoiled side to him and he does often get his way. I’m not sure how much longer the Florida police will play his games, but it’s much different in the legal system; than on the greens of nice golf course. Often Tiger has yelled, shouted, and even got fans threw out at golf tournaments as he has blamed them for noises or a camera flash during his swing. Many golf fans and other professional golfers have made fun of Tiger for his spoiled behavior patterns on the golf course. Many don’t do this in public, but lots of jokes get made behind Tiger’s back; when it comes to the way he handles his self and the maturity level he displays sometimes.

Police do want to learn more about the things that caused him and his wife Elin Nordegren to fight in the late hours of Thanksgiving night. Current reports are showing they had a fight over a mistress Tiger Woods has up in New York some where. It appears Tiger was cheating on his wife and this is what led to the argument. 

Tiger Woods drug usuageis also coming into play as police want to know more about the prescription drugs that was in Tiger Wood’s system that night. The combination of anger and drugs is not a good mixture and one Florida fire hydrant can vouch for that. Tiger ran right over a fire hydrant and then hitting a tree. No blood was found on the steering wheel, but both of Tiger Wood’s lips were bloody. These wounds probably came from Elin his wife and she probably did some sort of physical violence against Mr. Woods and Elin Nordegren is probably facing charges with the police too.

I would imagine the career is over for Tiger Woods. A lengthy suspension from the PGA tour is probably coming Tiger’s way and a number of sponsors will probably drop Tiger Woods off their advertising and promotional campaigns. Companies related to Tiger Woods will want to cut ties with the golfer, so consumers don’t relate their products with the misconduct that Tiger and his wife did in the early morning hours of Black Friday in Florida.

Overall it’s been a good run for Tiger and he did push golf to a new level. He will be remembered for a long time and has set the bar high for new golfers that come aboard on the PGA Tour. I would expect the police to arrest Tiger Woods the first chance they get. They may just pay him a late night visit tonight and take him away in handcuffs, so they can get their investigation underway and find out exactly what happened.

There is a lot to digest here with drug use, cheating on a spouse, a car accident, and then probably a physical beating that Tiger Wood’s was on the wrong end of. Regardless of his fame or how much money he is worth, police would not be making these 2nd and 3rd trips to his house like they would for us. Regular citizens would have already had a warrant out for them and probably in police custody by now. The Florida police did give Tiger a break and came back today to ask questions and probably arrest him too. Showing up the police two days in a row is not going to sit well with the authorities, I think they will be bringing in their man pretty soon. Tiger had a chance to speak with investigators in the comforts of his home and now these questions will probably be asked to him in a Florida police station. I’m sure Tiger wanted to watch Stanford and Notre Dame football game in college on Saturday night. He got to see his football game Saturday, but it was time to pay the Piper on Sunday and Tiger Woods failed to do this. Lots more coming on this story and I can’t wait for the TV movie of the week to do this story, so we can see the full timeline of events that probably ended Tiger Wood’s golf career.

 Jerry Jones finally has his new toy and he’s ready for it to start paying him some money back. The new stadium for the Dallas Cowboys is really nice and really big. We may just see history tonight when the Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants in a football game that many will see. If the 103,000 fans that are expected to attend the new Cowboy Stadium, then the NFL will be making history in Dallas tonight.

If you laid the Empire State Building down on its side; then that would be how long this new football stadium is. It also supports one of the largest TV screens in the world that is located right above the center of the field. Fans will get a chance to see replays of game action really easily on this huge TV screen.

I’m sure the New York Giants don’t want to be the first team to lose in the new stadium and Dallas will have their hands full tonight. It’s already week 2 of the NFL schedule, but this will be the first home game for the Dallas Cowboys football team and their fans to attend the new stadium. NBC will carry the game live tonight in front of a national audience as they go for the history books with one of the largest crowds ever to watch an NFL game.

It won’t be too much longer until the new release of the latest creation from Canada. Up there in Canada is a group of people that call their self Logiscape Technologies. The last few days of August are ticking down and lots of different sports are about to get underway. It’s no different in fantasy sports and these leagues follow the real leagues that are about to start up. The fantasy baseball managers are all gearing up for their post seasons as the long fantasy baseball season is about to come to an end.

The NFL has preseason football in full-swing, the NHL has their preseason games just around the corner and the NBA will start up in early October. A lot of fantasy football owners have conducted their drafts and have their fantasy teams ready to go. A few fantasy football leagues will wait until the 4th preseason game is played, so they can have information on all the preseason game injuries that might happen to some of the star players. I would like to know how Brett Favre and Michael Vick are going in these fantasy football drafts. Did you take a gamble on Vick or Favre for your fantasy football team?

I know the hockey fans are ready for the puck to drop and soon fantasy hockey leagues will be forming. Hockey is a world-wide sport and it’s possible you have people in your fantasy hockey leagues that live in Europe or on other continents. North America has thousands and thousands of NHL fans that participate in these hockey fantasy drafts and these guys love to draft their own local stars. I live just north of Atlanta, so people in my area will want to load up on a few Atlanta Thrasher players. Fantasy hockey is one of the easier fantasy sports to do and follow and you should give it a try; if you haven’t never played fantasy hockey before.

Now the NBA season is what I can’t wait for. Along with the start of basketball, you do get many NBA fans looking to draft a fantasy basketball team. I know Kobe Bryant and LeBron James are the two most sought after NBA players. I’m a big Kobe fan and was glad to see the L.A. Lakers win the championship last year. I think the Lakers with Artest will repeat as champions and they will have another good season this year too. My advice to fantasy basketball owners is to draft Artest in the 2nd round and no later in the 3rd round. He’s going to put up some big time stats this year and will be a valuable player to have on your fantasy teams. The fantasy NBA action can’t start until the kick-offs occur and the guys on the ice drop the puck for the first time.

We all know Forrest Gump didn’t do too well with keeping his Jenny. It wasn’t poor Forrest’s fault, but Jenny’s step dad and her drug addictions played a part in her absence from Mr. Gump. After Forrest started to make a few dollars, that Jenny chick wasn’t too far behind then and I guess you know how the movie goes from there.

A whole new movie is forming in South Carolina and once again we have a “Jenny” as the supporting actress. Jenny Sanford is her name and she is standing up to her husband, who just happens to be the Governor of South Carolina. This governor didn’t seem to like his Jenny that much and decided to go all the way to South America for a new girl friend. Normally this would have been fine, but Governor Sanford made 1 big mistake and he was still married to Jenny Sanford when he went fleeing south.

No big worries for Mrs. Sanford in South Carolina though. The whole world now knows just how bad of a guy Mark Sanford is and this Jenny is leaving her man too! Mark Sanford in some ways has the intelligence of Forrest Gump, but the man doesn’t have the Gump heart or the Bubba Gump Shrimping Company. He does hold the highest political office in the state of South Carolina and I’m sure the citizens want to see this man gone.

He really should be serving time behind bars. He has stole tax payer’s money for the 2nd time and he did pay back the money the first time he stole from the pockets of South Carolina residents. If a bank robber steals from a bank, they don’t give them the option of paying it back, it’s a crime that sends the bank robber straight to jail. Mark Sanford should be sent straight to jail for this latest episode of stealing tax payer money and this was money used to fund his trips to South America and meet up with his mistress.

The citizens of South Carolina have a good reason to be upset with their governor, but pretty soon that anger needs to shift toward the people still letting him hold his position. Mark Sanford is no longer welcomed as a U.S. Governor. I am a U.S. Citizen, but not a S.C. citizen and it shames me to have a man like this running one of our 50 states.  

There is another part of the world dealing with a similar circumstance. The citizens of Iran have a leader in office that doesn’t belong there and the voters don’t want him there either. It’s clear the majority of Iran doesn’t want their current leader in power and he’s only there because of false election results; that his political party tampered with. Iran and South Carolina are in the same boat and neither have the right man in control of their country or state. It may be time for people living outside the borders of South Carolina to step-in and help get Mark Sanford taken out of office and the man really should be facing jail time for his theft of tax payer money! His ex-wife Jenny is the one residents should support and a vote for Mark Sanford is a vote for cheaters, liars, and people that don’t love their wives or kids. It may sound harsh talking about a U.S. Governor this way, but he’s no better than the Iranian Leader holding office or any person in prison serving a sentence for theft and robbery.

 The new show from CBS is still on the air. I know some people thought it stop coming on, but Harper’s Island is now being shown on Saturday nights. I’m not sure why they left their Thursday night spot, but it is still coming on at 9PM EST. They are still on CBS and the strange things continue to take place on the Seattle Island.

The murder count is racking up and we still don’t know who the killer is. There are clues each week that we have to digest and try to figure out who the killer is going to be. I’m sure the producers of Harper’s Island have a few twists up their sleeves. I don’t think the killer would be anyone that looks like the obvious choice. One of those people is the boyfriend to the girl that was found hanging at home. Her death has pointed the finger at that guy and he does act strange. Since he does look like the killer or at least the one that is responsible for his girlfriend’s death, I don’t think he’s our man. I guess I should say “woman” too; along with “man” because it’s possible the killer is a woman. I know my very first guess before this new series even started, I was guessing Abbey as the killer. I know she is the last person we would expect to be killing, but that’s the way I think the show’s creators are thinking on this one.

Let me know if you have been watching Harper’s Island and what you think about it. I do think it’s something different to watch on television, but I don’t think it will win any awards for the best new show. I’m sure there will be better programs on TV than this in the 2009 year. I do like Harper’s Island and you can start watching it this Saturday to catch up with the rest of us. It’s not the Green River Killer this time around the Seattle area, but the new show that comes on every Thursday from CBS. It’s called Harpers Island and the show is really getting good now. The first episode seen 2 murders and now we got 3 more dead in the 2nd episode of Harper’s Island. The Island is located off the coast in Washington and near the big city of Seattle. A killer is on the loose and we are trying to figure out who that killer might be.

The first shocking scene in week 2 was when the hunters came out of the woods to see a dead deer on their truck. The deer’s blood was used to write out the word “PSYCHO” on the windshield of the truck. Later we see the person than did this washing their hands from the deer’s blood. One of the hunter’s names is Shane and Shane took the deer’s head and put in the bath tub of the person he thought was involved.

We also got to see the priest get his head taken off by the killer. He got caught in a trap and was hanging upside down and the killer took one swipe with a large blade and the priest’s head fell from the body. The 3rd murder came at the end of the show and we saw the beautiful blonde girl fall in a big hole. Someone dumped gasoline on her while being trapped in the large hole and then threw fire in the hole to set her ablaze.

The murder that was in the middle was an interesting one. This girl had just made a pact with Abbey that she would be going to Los Angeles with her. Abbey plans to return to L.A. after the wedding is over and this girl was excited that she was going to go back with Abbey. The guy living with her is the same guy that put the dead deer on the hunter’s truck. He seems like the likely killer right now, but this is the obvious choice for everyone to pick. I think Abbey can’t be taken off the list and she was my original pick as the killer. She was in the woods where the hunters were and she did talk to the girl that was excited to go to Los Angeles with her, but moments later the girl was found hanging in her apartment. Abbey wasn’t around when the priest got his head taken off and she was sitting at the bar with 3 other people when this murder took place.

The bride’s name is Trish and her dad looks guilty about something. The guy he is talking to in the 2nd episode seems to have a little guilt going his way too. This guy may be trying to break up the wedding and we should learn more about his role in the 3rd episode of Harper’s Island.

I do like watching this new CBS show and it is getting pretty good. If you have missed the first 2 episodes; then there is still time to watch and get caught up on things. Every week a murder or murders will take place on this Seattle Island and he TV audience is trying to determine who will be killed next or who the killer might be. Two websites get advertised during the show and you will see these if you tune in. There is a HarpersIsland.com and a Harpersglobe.com that I think are the two websites. One of these is for viewers to pick who they think will get murdered in week 3 of the show. I think with Trish’s dad and the guy he was talking to coming to the spotlight right now; we may see one of these 2 men lose their life this Thursday. Harpers Island does come on every Thursday and it comes on at 10PM EST for those living on the U.S. East Coast. Just check your local programming schedule and find out when Harpers Island comes on for you.

The new show Harper’s Island is off and running. It was a pretty good show for their debut last Thursday. There is a lot of characters in the show right now, so hard to keep up with who is who. This will be changing soon as new murders start taking place on this Seattle Island. I think we will know the characters much better in a few weeks; when there are less people on this new show from CBS.

I think the opening scene was pretty dramatic. A guy was tied to the bottom of the boat that was headed for Harper’s Island. His body was near the blades on the boat motor and everyone was having a good time and enjoying their self on top of the boat. When the boat did eventually pull away, the person tied to the underneath part of the boat got chopped up. We got to see the ocean fill with red (from the blood) that was created by the motor chopping up this man.

The show did a great job on relaxing its horror for the next 50 minutes or so before someone else died at the end. I was thinking the 2nd character that got murdered might have been the killer. He also had the looks of someone that would have played in more episodes of this new show. It was a shock to see this man get killed off and I think this is just the start of the teasing process; we will all have to endure until we find out who the real killer is.

The 2nd person to lose his life was walking an old wooden bridge. He fell through half way and then someone started chopping his body in half. The man did have a gun and fired a few shots through the wooden bridge hoping to hit the person or thing causing him pain from below. Eventually the man lost conscious and then when the camera panned back and showed us the under-side of the bridge, we could see the man was chopped in half.

The fun has just started on Harper’s Island and if you missed the first show, you’re not too far behind. Still lots of shows ahead to start watching this new show and I plan to watch them all. I look forward to seeing what the 2nd episode has in store for us.

The new TV show from CBS will make its debut tonight. The new show is called Harpers Island and everyone will want to be sure to watch the first episode. Anyone that believes they have a detective mind or above average skills for a detective will want to see if they can determine who the killer is in this new television show. Each week someone will die and it’s up to the television audience to determine who the guilty person is. I hope we can figure out who the murderer is on this Seattle Island, before the TV show reveals the true killer on July 2nd.

Make sure you don’t forget to tune in and see if you can solve the mystery on Harpers Island. The much anticipated show is only 2 short days away! It will debut on CBS this coming Thursday. Check the local listings in your area to find out when it comes on. You really want to watch the first episode, so you know what is going on. It is called Harpers Island and it should be a big treat for those that keep up with it each week.

The theme of this new program is “one by one” and do you know what is meant by that? One by one are the murders taking place on this island. People are getting killed one by one and it’s up to the TV viewers to try and figure out who is the killer. We will all know on July 2nd who the real murderer is, but we want to discover who that might be before the show actually reveals that.

I need the best minds online to gather here each week, so we can discuss the possibilities of who we think the guilty person is. I think if we put enough brain power and time in this new CBS show, we can come up with our own conclusions to how this show will end in early July.

Are you ready? This is your chance to solve a murder and if we all work together, we can figure this one out! We don’t just have one murder to take place on this Seattle Island, but there will be many of them and one each week. I like the concept that CBS is trying to do and I do hope the show turns out to be a big success for them. We need more prime time shows that allow the audience to participate and it does get a little old seeing amateur singers on American Idol. The new CBS Show called Harper’s Island is set to start on Thursday April 9th at 10 o’clock PM EST. It’s a show about Abby Mills, played by Elaine Cassidy, who returns to a Seattle Island to have a wedding. The Island has a haunted past where several murders took place just 7 years earlier. When Abby and her friends return to this island, the murders start once again. Each week someone gets murdered and it’s up to the viewing audience to figure out who is committing these murders. The list of suspects gets shorter each week and we will have to figure out who is guilty on this Seattle Island. I always go with the least likely suspect, so even before the show airs, I will go ahead and say Abby Mills is the one doing the murders. I have no idea and I haven’t got any inside knowledge or read any of the books that are out there. I just try to think about the least likely character and it would appear that Abby Mills will be that character in this new show from CBS.

Just remember the show starts this Thursday and you want to watch the first episode, so you can follow along for the entire season. I think this will be a great show and I am looking forward to watching it on Thursday; when it debuts on CBS. It starts April 9th and will run until July 2nd. Let’s see if we can figure out who the murderer might be before July gets here. I have to admit that I love my ice. I always like to put ice in my drinks. I put ice in sweet tea or all the sodas I drink each day. I know my daddy just fills his glass up with soda and doesn’t add any ice to it. He will put ice in his sweet tea, but he just doesn’t do it for the soft drinks.

Now we don’t have the old fashion ice trays that always work and produce perfect cubes of ice every time. Instead we have an ice maker in our freezer that automatically makes ice about every 4 hours. This is a lot better than having to fill up the ice trays from the kitchen sink, but sometimes the ice maker doesn’t want to work properly. Small pieces of ice will get trapped in the upper part and causes the ice to stop making. I hate when this happens, because usually I am unaware that it has gotten stuck and when the tray starts to run low or run out, you have to wait hours on new ice to be made.

There is also the problem of big clumps that get in the ice tray some how. I’m not sure what causes this but it wastes a lot of ice when it happens. Sometimes there are 20 or more pieces of ice clumped together and they don’t fit through the hole that comes down to the glass. Removing the big clumps is a never ending battle. I wish some company would make an ice maker that would keep the ice coming out with few problems.
