I admire those people who can pick up a musical instrument and start playing without ever having lessons. Most of these people have the musical ear and this is something I didn’t have then and don’t have now. I never got to the point where I tried to hire a real music teacher, but most of my friends are musicians and they have yet to rub off on me. I may just lack the desire and effort needed to learn how to play a musical instrument. Perhaps my ears are fine and I could be in a band one day, if I ever took time out to learn the ways of the musical world.

One of the more common instruments that people get started with is the piano. I know my sister can play the piano and she has had a few different piano teachers in her life. Her piano playing days were rough on me. I can remember as a kid and going with her and my mama to the weekly piano lessons and I hated this so much. Some places we were forced to wait out in the car and her lessons would take an hour or longer to finish. I would get so bored waiting for her to finish these piano lessons. I remember one of the teachers owning their own musical studio. This was a little better than waiting in the car, since a waiting room was available inside. The bad memory I have with the studio, is the TV they had out for us to watch. I guess the choices were more limited back then, but we would watch Private Benjamin every Monday night. This was the Private Benjamin that came on television and was a series for a few years. I never liked watching it and to see it coming on now, makes me think about all the boredom I had to endure back then.

Luckily little brothers that have an older sister now, with hopes of learning how to play the piano, doesn’t have to be put in the same situation as me. Just as long as there is a computer around and its connected to the Net; sisters all over the world can learn all the piano lessons they want online. This is another example of our technology making the world a better place.

The good news for you is that your piano lessons can start today! Learning to play the piano from your computer, will make life easier on the rest of the family. You also can take these lessons daily or as much as you want. This new way should prove to be much faster; than our 1 lesson a week routine we were doing back in the early 1980′s.
