George Bush Ducks Shoes
George Bush was holding a press conference today in Iraq and got a unwelcomed surprise. The leader of Iraq had spoke first and was in the process of turning the press conference over to the President of the United States George Bush, when an Arab Jounarlist decided to take matters into his own hands. He just didn’t take one of his shoes off and throw at the head of the President, but was able to launch a 2nd toss of a shoe that was aimed to the U.S. Leader.
I guess some places are not ready for civilized talks in public and this journalist did more harm with his actions than trying to ask the President tough questions. I’m not sure if I could take off my shoes and throw them with the accuracy of this foreign journalist. I think the President did a great job ducking the shoe assault and he used even less energy, ducking away from the 2nd toss from the crazed man in the audience. The President didn’t seek to run or find shelter either and remained standing shoulder to shoulder with the new Iraqi leader. I think this sums up a lot about our country and how we do remain standing with other foreign leaders, even when it seems it’s not the popular thing to do. George Bush made us proud today and I think his actions today in Iraq speak for all of us and we aren’t going to run and hide from those that don’t like us. Only person that needed shelter today was the journalist that threw the shoes at George Bush and he was taken to the ground by several men after his missed attempts of violence toward our President.
