Going Back in Time with 80′s Music

I do admit I miss the songs of the 80’s. I’m 36 years old, and I’m one of those people that have a hard time letting go of the past. I know, I know, some of them songs from the 1980’s sound cheesey these days. However, I think I still even like the cheesey ones. Remember that song by Brayan Adams called Heaven? It starts out:

Oh, thinkin’ about all our younger years
There was only you and me
We were young and wild and free

Just those lines alone, start bringing back the memories. Just like Bon Jovi’s song Never Say Goodbye:

Remember days of skipping school
Racing cars and being cool
With a six pack and the radio
We didn’t need no place to go

Just something about them 80’s songs and the lyrics that went with them, send me down memory lane everytime. So many great songs during that decade. In some ways makes me wish I could relieve them all over again.

Maybe you also have them songs that send you down memory lane when hearing them. See if any of these songs make you remember a certain party, girlfriend, event, etc….

Electric Avenue – Eddy Grant; Walk Like an Egyptian – Bangles; Amanda – Boston; Eternal Flame – Cheap Trick; Against All Odds – Phil Collins; Hurts So Good – John Cougar; Karma Chamelon – Culture Club; Money For Nothing – Dire Straights; She Blinded Me with Sceince – Thomas Dolby; Hungry Like the Wolf – Duran Duran; Sweet Dreams are Made with This – Eurythimics; I Want To Know What Love Is – Foreigner; You Dropped A Bomb On Me – Gap Band; Sunglasses at Night – Corey Hart; I Love Rock N Roll – Joan Jett and the Blackhearts; Open Arms – Journey; Girls Just Wanna Have Fun – Cyndi Lauper; Footloose – Kenny Loggins; 99 Luftballoons – Nena; Ghostbusters – Ray Parker Jr.; Every Breath You Take – Police; Little Red Corvette – Prince; Another One Bites the Dust – Queen; Islands in the Stream – Kenny and Dolly; Jesse’s Girl – Rick Springfield; Eye of the Tiger – Survivor; Were Not Gonna Take It – Twisted Sister; Sister Christian – Night Ranger; Africa – Toto; Jump – Van Halen; Missing You – John Waite; I Just Called to Say I Love You – Stevie Wonder; Owner of a Lonely Heart – Yes; Legs – ZZ Top; I Will Survive – Gloria Gaynor; White Wedding – Billy Idol

Of coarse you had all of Michael Jackson’s songs too. HEY……..don’t laugh. We all know Michael was cool then. I’m sure you had a pair of them parachute pants, laying right there by your Rubix Cube.

I’m sure you knew at least 1 or 2 of the songs above. If not, then you are either 13 years old, or have never owned a radio before. I’m sure you probably seen a song that was very popular to you, that I left off the list. Please let me know about it. Help me to remeber some of them great songs of the 80’s too.  I guess I will really start to feel old when I see Sirius Radio put a 90’s section up on their radio channels.
