One of the greatest ways to sight see in your area or while on vacation is in a hot air balloon. If you have lived in your area for several years or maybe even grown up there then taking a scenic ride in a hot air balloon will be simply astonishing. We were able to take a ride in a balloon close by where we live about a year ago that took us over some of the amazing wine country that we live near by. My wife and I have lived in the area for over 15 years and were both amazed at just how different the vineyards and hills looked when you are at about 1,000 feet above ground. It feels as if you are literally floating on air and you forget that you are in a balloon until they fire it up. My biggest concern was landing and that was quickly forgotten as we seemed to float into the sunset towards our landing spot in a field that was covered in green grass. It was amazing how soft the landing actually was and our pilot was amazing.

Their site is full of information to help answer any questions that you may have about your flight and what to bring and prepare for. They even feature tethered balloon rides for those that want to experience the balloon itself but not crazy about floating through the coutry side. For anyone that has never had a chance to experience balloon ride I would highly recommend it.
