NCAA March Madness Time

The regional tournaments are underway for most of the college basketball conferences. Many games will be played on Saturday to determine which two teams will be playing in their conference championships. The good news, this isn’t the end of college basketball for the good teams out there. This only closes one college basketball tournament door and opens up the main one. There will be 65 lucky teams that get chosen to play in the NCAA Tournament. This always happens in the month of March and we like to refer to this as “March Madness“.

The NCAA guys do a fabulous job with running both of these tournaments. They even have a 3rd basketball tournament for teams that are on the bubble or get left out of the main NCAA tournament, they can play in the NIT Tournament. I like to watch all 3 tournaments and it’s even better to watch when you have a team from your own state still alive in the tournament.

Now the basketball guys in the NCAA do such a good job, why can’t the college football get things right? The NCAA needs a football playoffs in the NCAA ranks, so we can prove to America where the best college football is played. It gets old to see over ranked teams from the West Coast getting to play in bowl games that the Southern teams deserve more. Oh well, I will save my college football playoffs rant to another day.

I still have one horse in the race today. I hope they can win and play in the ACC championship game that will be held on Sunday in Greensboro, South Carolina. If your team is no longer playing in the conference tournaments, you still have one more chance to see them play again. A field of 65 is a lot of teams that get to participate in the NCAA Tournament and it’s really not that hard to get in. The NIT Tournament will also start up and this is another great tournament that supplies a nice amount of teams to the field. If your team isn’t good enough for the NCAA Tournament or NIT Tournament, then it’s probably best you didn’t watch them play again anyways. Let them die in peace and don’t ask for another loss to another college basketball team.

Also, don’t forget to fill out your NCAA college basketball brackets. They will announce the field on Sunday night and everyone can fill out their college basketball brackets on Monday.
