The Fountain of Youth

Guest post from blogger Taylor Wisner

We set our Orlando alarm products, turned off the ceiling fan and closed the front door. It was a cool spring morning as I started the car and headed toward the oldest city in America, Saint Augustine, Florida. An hour later we arrived in St. Augustine and headed for the Fountain of Youth. We took a circuitous route through the city, going by the old fort on the St. John’s River, drove by Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum and finally pulled in to the parking lot for The Fountain of Youth. Well, it cost a pretty penny to enter the park, but, how can you place a price on the chance to recapture your youth? We heard the story about how Ponce DeLeon had come to America and found the healing waters that rejuvenated him. We dipped our hand in the “fountain” and drank a few sips. Suddenly, I felt different. No, I was not any younger. The water had given me the urge to relieve myself! Well, we found a bathroom and I took care of my business. We walked around the grounds for a little while and thought that this was not a very impressive Landmark. After a quick trip to the gift shop, we left, empty-handed and headed back to the car. Lunch at The Village Inn made the trip worthwhile.
