People that try to make money online or do business online have to be wary of all the scams that exist online today. I have personally loss money from a few programs that turned out to be scams. One of the newer scams online is the free business cards you think you will get, but it turns out to be a lie or just a misleading marketing angle. If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is, right? Well if you’re on the computer and see something that looks too good to be true; then it’s about 200% more likely not to be true.

There are clever marketing geniuses online that suck us in without us knowing it. These aren’t really scams, but just very misleading advertising campaigns. Typically the ones that state “free” in the title, heading, or main focus really aren’t free. You may get something that appears to be free, but in some other way you’re paying for shipping or another cost that is actually helping to pay for the “free item” you’re suppose to be getting.

A good example of this is with all the free business cards you see online today. Lots of people online are trying to sell or promote something, so you cover a big area when you offer a marketing tool and at a price no one can beat and that is the free price. Most of these places never do actually give you free business cards, they will just supply you with them after you have made another purchase or paid for an increased shipping rate. A supply of 100 free business cards may only cost a buck to ship, but some will charge 5 dollars for shipping and the extra 4 dollars goes for the price of those “free” business cards. You may also find that there is a limited supply of designs available for the free cards or you may have a place on your card that advertises for them with your free business cards. Be very careful with these types of scams online and always be cautious of free items. If you want business cards as a marketing tool for your online interests, just look for companies that do quality work and offer a fair price for their cards like 123 Print does. Stay away from the ones that will give you free business cards, because they are not actually free!
