The Simpsons Turn 20

The Simpsons

It was a special night on Sunday for Homer, Bart, and the rest of the gang we know as the Simpsons. On Sunday January 10th; it marked the 20th anniversary of the Simpsons being on television. They weren’t always a prime time show on the weekends and they got their start on the Tracey Ulman Show. Through a lot of hard work and dedication the Simpsons are still around 20 years later and they are bigger than ever now.

The Simpsons has now made history and with each new episode they will continue to make history. The Simpsons is the longest running TV show that has ever been produced for television. Since the characters are not aging any and continue to be the same age, we could see the Simpsons set new numbers that no TV program will ever catch.

In celebration of their 20th anniversary last night, they did a special show that was dubbed the Simpsons on Ice and was in 3D. For those of you that got a chance to see last night’s special, probably got a big kick out of this. The Simpsons continue to be a popular family in their town of Springfield, but they are just as popular in other American towns too. It’s not just the United States that gets to watch this animated series and the Simpsons can be seen in many other countries. I won’t be surprised to see the Simpsons do another 20 years as their fame and popularity continues to grow around the globe. Congratulations to the Simpsons for a wonderful 20 years and I am glad that I had the chance to share most of those 20 years with them! Doh!
